Usually when you think of fundraisers, you think of them happening as soon as possible after a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina. Well, in the time following Katrina's aftermath, it became obvious that New Orleans was going to be needing help for quite some time. The entire region has been destroyed and families have been displaced all over the country, some perhaps never to return to the city they called home.

In the case of New Orleans, there will be tourist dollars to help rebuild the city, and it has been announced that Mardi Gras 2006 will take place in the French Quarter.

As a way of helping those Katrina communities that still need a steady stream of financial assistance, as well as immortalizing & celebrating the naughty pleasures that are Mardi Gras, we've come together to offer up artwork as a celebration of Mardi Gras from afar. Not all of us can afford to take a trip to the struggling city in 2006, but this is a way to send your heart and your dollars there.
