We work hard to prevent suicide, increase suicide awareness and remove the stigma on attempters and survivors. We facilitate educational programs, organize systems-wide support, train professional caregivers, and offer consultative services. We work with religious communities, business and labor, health care providers, higher educational institutions, law enforcement, and military personnel. As an example we are sponsoring the first National Conference for Survivors of Suicide Attempts, their Friends and their Families in Memphis, Tn. in October 2005.
